Notice to Numidia racers

I was not able to go to this race. Watching race 2 now. Someone needs to talk to the track officials about,

1. First round of Stock had both contestants red light. Someone forgot to flip the switch from qualifying to eliminations in the tower.
2 Not sure who is announcing but he is saying the reaction times WHILE THE CARS ARE GOING DOWN THE TRACK!! THIS NEEDS TO STOP IMMEDIATELY!!

Drive fast, drive safe, take names...Ray

Who was the guy doing the Andrew Dice Clay impersonation?

That was one of the Dimino boys (owner?s son/owner).
And yes, he was an absolute riot. Hysterical.

I forget his name.I know he's part of the extended family there.
He does a great job with the numbers.
I wouldn't worry too much about the earpiece/ radio in helmet, 3rd party co-conspirator in the stands thing. Too much going on in the race car in those few seconds ;-)

Mark,
I would love to hear through my helmet radio,
-Ray you slept...push him to the line then dump him.
-Ray you had the better light...make sure you finish first.

Most of us do not have helmet radios. I don't.

Mark Dawson (Div1 Director) contacted me. I want to understand "True Start" better. Mark says, "YOU CAN HAVE 2 RED LIGHTS IN ELIMINATIONS OR QUALIFIERS". So I assume that when 2 red lights occur in eliminations the timing system decides who redlighted first? Are there other changes I might not know?

TrueSTART has become pretty common in bracket racing, but it will vary by track or race promoter.

When the first car leaves, the light will ALWAYS turn green. When the second car leaves, the lights will remain green if both drivers were green, or one/both red lights will turn on if either/both drivers were red. The winner will be the driver who was red by the least amount. The way it should be, IMO, although I've never heard about it being approved for use at the NHRA divisional/national level.

If you're the slower car, you just need to be sure to check for winlights after the quicker car leaves.

They also did not have deep staging disabled as several racers dropped the top light out and the tree did not go red. I brought this to the tower and starters attention.

Lenny,
Thanks. So in the event of 2 reds in eliminations does the tree eventually show a green? If it eventually shows a green it would need to be after the last car crosses the finish line.

I think NHRA should tell the drivers before the event starts if TrueStart is being used (maybe this is a good topic for a "poll"?).
I don't know about you guys but I would drive different for TrueStart than the old way. You can not just look back and see your opponents red and know you have the win. You need to see the red in your opponents lane AND see your win light on.
Ray
