3rd round Stock Brainerd
Can anyone explain what happened in the 3rd round race between Jurgens and Irvine? The shown winner did not make it to the next round.

Jon has a post on Facebook, his opponent bypassed the scales so Jon was reinstated.

I bracket race mine also and get so used to not scaling it in brackets at Vegas and the time slip booth is just short and offset on the other side...was excited with a win earlier this season, and save for an official pointing me over to the scales line I almost drove right on by. When I know I did not win I do lately...but none of us should for just this reason. Wins are hard enough to come by, that win then DQ had to be tough to swallow. |

The intentional few are much different than the accidental few.

Unfortunate drive by for Jordin. Being first pair, best park it on the scales and say good morning.Seems Jon was having issues with his ride to add salt to the wound.

I can tell you what I was told...
Jordin was the first pair down the track that morning. When he was coming to the scales, the sign said they were closed. Tech official was coming out of the trailer giving the thumbs up or down signal. Jordin only saw the thumbs up and thought he was good to go. I wasn't there to witness it but I have no reason not to believe him. Ultimately it was Jordin's fault for not stopping but I think there could have been a lack of good communication from tech official. |
Re: 3rd round Stock Brainerd
The sign at the scale and fuel check can be confusing. I find myself studying it each round. I believe it?s green when open red means closed. But I totally see how green means go and red means stop. It?s a bad deal and I feel for a driver that makes this mistake. I?ll bet it doesn?t happen again.. what I?m not sure of is I heard rumblings of the opponent being reinstated without going across the scale. My interpretation of the rule is if neither weigh both will be DQ.

The track that will really bite you is St Louis. Don't ever ask the guy at the et shack if the scales are open. He has been known to give false information. If you are holding a win card in your hand drive directly to the scales which is way after the tunnel to the sportsmen pits. This is especially important after dark. They put up the yes or no signs but they are hidden in the dark. We have asked for additional lighting in this area but it has so far fallen on deaf ears.

Re: 3rd round Stock Brainerd
Hold the line up I'll wait and do the same thing. Too many things can and do go wrong. Scaling and fuel checks for your next pass (the next day or the next month it can still ward off future issues even if it is a true loss that round). We are not holding up much, and no more than we certainly do during every qualifying round.
Like I said before...Wins are tough to come by and half the field loses every round. That is sad for Jordin that any sign was out and there was a mixup (but there for the Grace Of God, go I). Glad at least that the other guy was seen weighing and Fuel check at least. People may hear things, but having an eye witness see it and report the correction here helps so misinfo is not spread further by word of mouth or written word further. Still feel for Jordin. Chin up brother, You know who earned that round win at the stripe at least, and so do others. Bad stuff still happens to good people. |
