I've heard the same about the rods, when Tim Lee in Texas was doing his first one. A lot of circle track racers that use those engines had told him about the rods. He got one of the engines, threw a set of rods in it, and with the right gear/converter/trans, you may have an index-runner. I think he built the 330/340HP one, like Greg suggested.

As Chip Johnson pointed out on the DRR thread, if Billy Plage has one of his motors for sale, I recommend picking that up now and be done with it!
