1995 Camaro Pure Stock?
I'm wondering if there is any place for a 1995 Camaro with a 3.4(207ci) V6 in pure stock? If you use the same power/weight factor as stock it dosen't fit. It has a ratio around 17.90 and i/ps is 16-16.99. Would it be alright to run it in i/ps even if it where too heavy but still ran index? Other options would be q/s or r/s but we don't think we can get the street driven car quite quick enough.
Any ideas or input? Keep in mind my dad owns the car and is on a very tight budget |
Re: 1995 Camaro Pure Stock?
IF they allow Pure Stockers to move up or down one class from it's "natural" class, and the #'s are right, it seems like you could run it in I/PS. But adding or subtracting weight under the rules may be difficult. You could run heavy, but that would make it that much more difficult to run the index on a budget.
Where's Tim Griffith when you need him? ;) |
Re: 1995 Camaro Pure Stock?
Chipper,
I have played with the 3.8 in I/PS, and I would not recommend trying to run the 3.4. The best I have heard anyone going with one in stock form with a gear and converter is about 15.00. I would recommend the 3.8 camaro/firebird for pure stock. I can get you rolling with that combination and make it run under pretty easliy. Edit: Just saw the words tight budget, and this is definetly not a combo that you can make run under the 14.55 index under a tight budget. |
