Once I saw the Neon, I had to post this photo, taken in 1971.

Here is my first ever car (even prior to my Duster): A 65 Valiant 100 that I bought just out of high school in 1969. The 3-on-the-tree and Slant 6 were removed in favor of a 340,727 (Tritak did the valve body), fenderwell headers, 4.30 axle and the obligatory Cherry Bomb mufflers. And I had to keep a SPARE FLAT HOOD for motor vehicle inspection, since they kicked my butt for "obstruction of vision".
