Re: Mustang MPH?
Jim W,
Respectfully, who gave you this info on the pulleys? Why is it that everyone has all this information and no sources to back it up. Hearsay is CRAP! This must be a really smart person who fed you this because they don't know the first thing about late-model supercharged vehicles. The CJ does not use a cogged blower drive, so there are no teeth to speak. Have fun counting those teeth! This goes for the drive pulley, or the driven pulley as the blower is driven by a serpentine belt with a sprung tensioner.
Furthermore, the rulebook states "aftermarket pulleys permitted." It currently says nothing about pulleys used to drive blowers, nor does it state anything on NHRA.com. Where do you people get this information from? Please, I know many of you are bothered by the CJ, but if you are going to come on here and post, at least properly inform yourself in order to sound intelligent about the topic and list facts backed up with a legitimate source. Only then will you be taken seriously.
And who is "loading them down with weight." Simple physics, a lighter object can be accelerated quicker than a heavier one.
Evan
