I am so sorry to hear this. As some of you may be able to tell by my avatar, I was lucky enough to purchase Earls dakota stocker october of 07.

He had to quit racing due to his failing health and eyesite.

I never got the honor of meeting him in person. After calling him about his truck, and asking all the pertinent questions, I could tell he was a 100% straight shooter. Truck was way beyond what he described, and he was incredibly helpful in writing me a user's manual for the truck. I will always be thankful for his help last season, help that will help for many a season to come. A truly classy guy.

Life is too short for too many. Makes us all appreciate how lucky we are to have the resources, time and ability to class race. Class racing and life are not always fair, not sure they ever were, dealing with them with class, thats what I take from dealings with Earl.

I will try to do his memory and truck proud this season in D-1 and beyond for stocker 3881. My heartfelt condolences to his widow and family. This wheelies for you Earl.

Sincerely

Eric E Merryfield
