Default Re: Unmitigated Greed

Well it will probably get me a threatening letter or a ban, but I shot off my mouth on their "official" Facebook group with my opinion on the matter. It had to be short because of space limits.

"Instead of using an NHRA employee's time to update Facebook with this fluff all day you people should be finding ways to cut costs without hurting the racers or the spectators. How is it that you folks supposedly increase revenues by $7 million and the assets by almost as much (as per the 2007 tax return), but then you feel the need to DOUBLE our fees in the midst of this financial crisis?

You guy's just cut your own wrists with poor decision making for both the present and future. Will I stop racing tomorrow? No. Will I start spending my "entertainment" dollars elsewhere? YES. My season tickets for hockey are GOING DOWN next season, and they are probably going to cost less for TWO SEATS than it costs to attend one divisional race. What has the NHRA done for me lately other than tell us that WE ARE THE ONES BEING SUBSIDIZED?!?!? The only people being subsidized are the do-nothing board of directors. You've fleeced the racers enough. Get the hell out of Dodge already!"

I agree with Bryan Worner on his solution. We are going to be spending well over $200 (maybe even $300 with the entry fee increase) to be at Englishtown, why not just save that for a race that would pay $10k to the winner without having to have a single sticker on the car?
