This is stupid!

The shield is a hunk of metal and is not likely to fail just sitting there behind the engine.

It should be visually inspected on the OUTSIDE by the NHRA to look for obvious damage, rust and cracks.

It should only be inspected off the engine if it has contained a clutch explosion.
