In reading through these posts, it never fails to amaze me that supposed S/SS racers get on here and throw out specifications based on assumptions and not easily found facts. Maybe that's a clue into how there own program is run.
For example, the engine in question (2008 Cobra Jet package) is NOT a 3-V engine, it is a 5.4 4-V engine, very similar to the Shelby engine, rated 500 FP per OEM until recently upgraded to 540 HP w/ tunning upgrades.
Here is a snap-shot from the NHRA 2008 Ford engine blueprint showing how many valves:
(note the 425 HP 330 or 5.4L 4-V is 49 CID smaller than the 510 HP 4.6L 3-V)
