NHRA: Missing Opportunity?
Although not common practice when all qualifying sessions have been run, but this might be a reason to reconsider:
The Great Bend race (D5), was postponed today due to severe weather. The conclusion date will be the Thursday before the Topeka divisional in August. They actually raced for about 10 minutes (15 pairs of S/ST cars, RD 1) before the rains came back to stay. Reopening the remaining fields would, more than likely, considerably, raise the car count for Topeka. With the opportunity to race 2 D5 races in 3 days, would you show up, where you might not otherwise? With only 30 cars in SS and 43 in stock, it would benefit NHRA to do so. Dad's in the field, so the least amount of cars, the better for points, but I'm looking at the big picture. What's your thoughts?
