Here's what you do:
Come out of your burnout ( which also didnt have a rev limiter)
Stage car
Look at that real big thing with numbers from 0-10,000
If you want to leave at say..... 6800, then press down on your gas pedal untill the pointer thingy on that big round thing is right at 6800, then DO NOT press pedal further. Hold it there untill the tree comes down and you want to go.... then.... and this is the most important part.... take your foot off the clutch pedal and the car will go.
*sigh* Dont know how we all did it without todays technology.

I raced stick in the "early" years and this may be hard to believe by some but after awhile you ALMOST didn't need the tach as you could tell by the sound of the motor where your RPM was at. Just a quick glance at the tach and then concentrate on leaving on the fourth bulb! (showing my age....lol)
