That rear end was never used in a Chevrolet.

Relax, Jeff. I'm not attacking the use of a Dana 60 in an AMC. That rear was used in Plymouths and Dodges as a replacement. I would say that's a corporate component.
There were some heavy duty GM trucks that used a Dana rear but the key word is "TRUCK" so the Dana would not be legal in a GM product stock eliminator car. Its legal in Mopar because of so manay PASSENGER cars from Plymouth/Dodge came with the Dana 60. AMC is considered part of Mopar now so the Dana and the 8 3/4 is deemed legal. I always felt that any passenger car rear should be allowed for strength no matter the brand of car like in Super Stock. I dont think the rear end makes enough HP to push the car down the track any quicker but the rules are what they are.
