Buddy of mine used to tow his '67 Fairlane 427/4 speed bracket car with a '67 Fairlane 289 wagon.

I was at Assumption with my 340 Challenger street car one day and decided to run it with the exhaust on. Halfway through the first time run a header muffler decided to let go and got run over. I drove the 103 miles home with open headers.
