Default Re: Iacono Rnd 4

Iacono's car was moving around a lot on the pass. after the finish, there was so much smoke it was easy to assume the worst. We could not see the car. Most assumed he had even gone over the wall, which is scary at Lebanon Valley because that's the return road. Rumors were rampant. As mentioned, he broke a strut rod and tagged the wall.

It all became clear when Iacono showed up in the lanes for the next round. He had a conversation with his opponent, Ed Alessi, in which he described the damage and repair. They had replaced the rod and eyeballed the alignment. Alessi seemed assured that the car was safe and agreed to race him.

Bob Lang crawled under the front of the car to inspect and gave the go-ahead. It appeared to me that Iacono was serious about the race, not just staging the car...he was only red by .009.

I have photos but can't seem to get them up.

Hope that clears up the question.
