Default Re: Dead Battery at Denver

For those who have had a negative contact with Mr. Stewart at a National event, I do feel for you. I had a few one on one contacts myself. When I started in 1995 I was driving a roadster in S/G. I believe it was Richmond and I would leave the line with my helmet lense up, then flip it down in throttle stop. He stopped me the very next run and told me about it very nicely but very direct. I was OK for the next few runs. Then 2nd or 3rd round I was guilty once again and won the round. The time slip lady said "stay right there and wait for a tech offical". Here comes a guy on a scooter. He presented a note advising me that I would be gone if it happened again, and I had to sign it right next to Rick Stewart's name. The next round I was in full compliance (he gave me a friendly nod) then I lost the round. Then in first round at 98 Columbus, my opponent left before I was even in, Rick waved me off, backed me up till he was off the track. The tree was reset and with a kind hand signal I went to the line, took the tree, and the free one to round two. It's hard to say what puts the *** on some people! May have had a greasy butt or just need a BP MED increase.....it happens some times!
