Andy,

One of the best tools available today is the Luke Bogacki "This is bracket racing" web site. join the site and print off all the info. I think you will find it to be very enlightening. And do not let the web site title confuse you, the lessons are completely applicable to class racing.

And a word about your combination/consistency question, the better an engine can breath, the less it is affected by conditions. Of course, all combinations change with the weather, it is a matter of learning your car. Luke will help with that.

Personally, after years of experience, I like a chassis [speaking of stockers] that has leaf springs and uses the Cal-Trac system.

Again, after years of experience, I do not like a chassis with rear control arms and coil springs.

These are my thoughts from experience.
