I agree. It is a new profit center. The problem is that many times they are not correct in how they apply the regulations. I know a friend that was stopped in Iowa and was from Nebraska. He had a pick up truck and a 24ft trailer with no lettering. They gave him all kinds of grief and some tickets. It turned out they applied the regulation, but did not follow the guidance that explained the exemptions. I e mailed the governor's office and actually got a response. It took awhile but the state police helped straighten out the little scale weasal that was hasseling law abiding citizens on the border. Joe is right though, it really vary's state by state.

Charlie, maybe you ought to reach out for the Governor, you might be one of the better tax paying customers in Michigan, maybe you should tell him you are moving and taking your tax money with you. I bet they listen.
