RV carpet. Comes in all kinds of colors, is easy to work with, and is lightweight. A can of 3M carpet glue, a good stick or ball game on the radio and you're ready to go.......

If you're serious about the flameproof angle, check with any local aircraft completion center, as some aircraft FAR's require the use of flameproof materials.
