It seems to me that the potential for a 3-car pileup at this 4-lane strip is not a matter of "how", but rather "when" it will happen...

Or how about this.
they are cleaning up/ prepping/ doing whatever to one set of lanes and racing in the other. One of the cars racing doesnt matter what class goes over the wall or throws some parts over and some poor person is standing there with a car/parts coming at him and all he has to protect himself with is a broom. I dont see how they can even pull that off without some extreme risk to the track workers. How would you like to be the guy driving the car that went over the wall not only do you have a severly damaged race car but for the rest of your life you get to goto bed with the thought of having killed or mamed someone. I had a drunk woman walk out onto the capitol beltway in front of me when I was 18. Over 20 years later and I still think about it everyday and it was not my fault.
NHRA raises prices and has insurance surcharges to cover the ever increasing costs of lawsuits. Can you imagine what the prices will be if someone gets hurt or killed doing this. I try to look at the bright side and if this comes off without a hitch it will be awesome for our sport but if someone gets killed or hurt it may set it back to the stone age as NHRA will really get hammered in the press.
