Default too much traction

unlike most of you guys, my car has way more traction than it needs. this is a '56 Nomad with a 265- 2.64 low w. 5.67gear.
i built a set of slapper bars, which work to the point of pulling the front wheels up a few inches. however the engine will not carry through. i don't want to have to launch at 8K !
i tried a set of rear adj. shocks to limit body rise, which made matters worse. i now have a set of adj front snubbers [to limit front end rise and thus stop load transfer], but not used them yet.
i wonder about;
1. clamping the front half of the springs and then lowering the bars so the bar snubber contacts later.
2. buying a set of Cal-Tracs, assuming that they can be made to react slower.

the car really needs to spin the tires to leave.
any ideas?
thanks for the help rod
