You wouldn't really need a tach, just a shift light cause the PCM has an rpm output for the shift light. Most of the guys running DP's are using a 904 or 727 and if they choose, can be adapted with an electronic valve body. You can program your shift points by rpm and just leave the shifter in D for dumb and let the TCM box do the shifting for you all the way down the 1320.

I'm going to think out loud here... Racing a bracket truck with an electronically contolled transmission and a programable TCM for the past 5 years, makes me think the problems Jeg's had, sound more of an electronic issue than a mechanical one. ??? If the shift point was set too high, the shift wouldn't be completed in time before the engine hit the rev limiter. If the shift point was set too low, the transmission would upshift prematurely. Been there, done that. It would be interesting to see what combo Jeggie is running.
