I can remember being at Detroit Dragway in 1967 or 1968 and in those days some funny car teams did not have a tow vehicle so they would ask people in the stands if a fan would help the teams out by using their driver car as a tow vehicle. A guy showed up with a plain jane 4 door 66 Dodge Coronet no trim, dog dish hub caps, drab paint color. One of the funny car team members said to pop the hood to see if the car had enough power to tow the funny car. Under the hood was a factory street hemi. I looked inside the car and and it also had a 4 speed on the floor. Chrysler actually delivered a few hemi 4 speeds from the factory and this was one of them. Neat stuff.
