Default Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....

I almost never agree with Fred Johnston, but he's right. 500 cars show up, and 16 have a chance at anything (32 sometimes, if they have a deal where you race your way in). Imagine if at Indy, 180 Stockers show up, and right before first round, NHRA calls everyone to a drivers meeting and announces "We're taking 16 random cars and running them off for the title, the rest of you, thanks for coming, see you next year/race". It would be absolute chaos.

Pinks All Out, most of the time, is fairly entertaining to watch on TV. And any exposure we get, as Class Racers, can only be a good thing. I just can't bring myself to support anything involving them, after an assinine statement on their website a few years ago. For the hell of it, I went to their registration page (I believe it was for the Norwalk event). The statement read, "12.99 second and quicker door cars only. If it's slower than 13 seconds, we don't want it". Quote. So, in a normal PAO race, every Stocker from Q to W is out (except for maybe a very few, fast Q cars). All the FWD Stockers (except for 1-2 A cars, like Blossom), as well as SS/GS. So, they can move on without me, since my slow POS isn't good enough for them.
