First off, I am a MoPar kind of guy...
Second off, my bracket car is a 1972 A Body with a transplanted 360 Magnum, sporting ten pounds of boost from a Vortech centrifugal supercharger.
I said all that to say this: I support MoPars every way I can, and cheer when they win.
But a Stock Eliminator car that is "ONE OF ONE" bothers me on several different levels.
Guess I was a tech guy for too many years, back when NHRA was run as a racing organization, not a business.
Maybe if NHRA would let me put a 340 in my '72 Valiant 4-door (they actually could be ordered that way in 1972, only) I might have a different opinion... being on the advantageous side of things like that has a way of skewing your perspective... and as much a fan as I am, and as admiring of a 360 Magnum "Stocker" in 2010, I still can't get comfortable with ANY Stock Eliminator car that is "one of one."
I'll get over it... someday.
Good luck to the Teutons and kudos to them for having the cajones to run a 360 wedge, when everybody else is playing it safe and building a Hemi! Way to go, guys!!!
Schizoid??? Guess I am....
