Records used to be worth points. An et record was the same points as winning 2 rounds, a MPH record same as one round. Why did that change? Also, I agree qualifying should be worth some points. Some thing simple, like ten points for #1, on down to 1 point for #10, or something similar. Nothing hard about that.

It would be very simple to put a stock vehicle on a chassis dyno, and if that number is higher than the factory rating, start off using that as the factor. It will be lower than flywheel hp, but not as far off as some new ratings. Even the LS1 and LT1 won't make more an a couple rwhp more (if any, that varies car-to-car) than the factory rating. They will a little with some tuning, but not like they come from the dealer. Nothing complicated about that. Heck, bring 'em to Tulsa and I'll do it for free.
