I went through the same thing at PBIR regarding the long journey to staging, overheating once. Pleading with Royce Miller he certainly understood and suggested we tow as well. During the 32 car deal they changed the return road process which shortened the journey. Yes, it was a pain, but the price to pay with spectators and TV crew, and actually wasn't as bad as other events with half the spectator count.
