Re: The muscle car is alive and well in the NMCA!!
I have been racing NSS since 1995. I have seen the class change a little over the past years. Currently I am on the rules committee for NSS. Ya we have a few hood scoops that are a couple inches taller than stock and some of our faster NSS cars some more modern parts to push them into the low nines and even a few run 8.70s. But I will tell you this type of racing is alot of fun. The NMCA and several others series run NSS. But I think if you came and watched these cars you would find they look very Nostagic and this is some tough racing. Many of the racers are great bracket racers that have decided to do something different than running at there local track. The cars are all big block 60s cars with 10.5W tires that are 11.5 inches wide, no delay boxes, trans brakes, air shifters, cant even use a two step. Ive have loved racing my Challenger in NHRA events but I will never quit NSS racing.
Thank you, Doug Duell STK 350 NSS 1
