Re: Live from Atco, NJ ... National Open
Morning everyone, its a cold 48 degrees but the sun is out, unfortunately it still is windy. Not sure if we will start at the 9:30 schedule start time. Cars as still coming in and if the wind would just die down a little, it would be a great day for racing. It is supposed reach 65 today with sun all day.
For the most part racing has been good, not hearing of any major complaints and there is no talk of the issues that plague this forum. When you get to the track, most are just happy to be racing. Funny how when your at the track you here less about what's wrong with NHRA and more of, man its nice just to be racing.
I went around the pits just to find out what's new in division 1. Of coarse Wally Zalak's beautiful Corvette is the talk of the pits. "Bubba" Russell Linke has a new ride this year. Running C/SA in his 97 Camaro replacing 85 H/SA Camaro. The new Cobra Jets owned and raced by Anthony Bongiovanni are not running like Anthony would like, but I can assure you these cars will be on top very shortly.
I had a Chance to talk to Ed Fernadez for while, Ed is a regular on Class Racer as most know. Ed has a good heart, and is very entertaining, although he does like to push the buttons of our Class Racer members.
I will try to get the final qualifying sheets for stk and ss later today. I will be back to let everyone now when we are under way, but may not be able to give many live reports during the day.
