It sounds like they are allowing for 390 in the code. If you are titled in a company name, you are subject to DOT. If you are in a personal name, you are probably ok. You still need to know about 390. If you got a pickup, you probably still need a plate to cover your weight or your total GVW. Never never let them say you are a commercial vehicle. But you can't do that if you are titled in a company name or something that resembles that. Jeff Teuton is ok, Jeff Teuton Racing (just cause it looks good on a title, or on the side of a trailer) gets you in the DOT gate.
