As I said before I like going up early. I am like a kid in a candy store when I hear the call and it doesn't bother me if I have to wait. I did however get burned pretty bad once by having to wait on my competitor to show up. Those that know me know I love to cook. Well a couple of years ago at a bracket race I was cooking my famous Shrimp Danielle ( Jumbo shrimp in a white wine cream sauce over angel hair pasta) Everyone kept coming by and telling me how good it smelled and wanting to know what time it would be ready. Well I had just finished boiling the pasta and had the sauce simmering when we got the call. I hurried and drained the pasta, lowered the fire and took off. Got to the lanes and had to wait a good while for the other guy to show up. We finally get staged and down we go. Just past the 1/8 I look over and there is about ten people standing in front of my RV at the fence holding up their bowls of food!!!! I felt shafted!!!
So now I still take off like a fat man in line at Ryan's Buffett when I hear the call but I wait and boil the pasta after we finish running for the day.
