In 1963 the NHRA put pressure on Mother Mopar because not enough aluminum cars were built, so the owners of an unknown number of '63 Max Wedge cars were sent complete aluminum front ends whether they asked for them or not. The object was to get enough of them out there to satisfy the NHRA.
