Re: Live from Atco, NJ - NHRA Lucas Oil DRS
If I were a betting man this morning at around 10:30 I would've bet the ranch against getting any part of this race in today - I really didn't see any chance of it happening - there was so much pollen flying around words cannot describe what we witnessed .Like everyone else in attendance today I'll be cleaning the race car / trailer and motorhome for sometime before its all gone and back to normal .
This racers hat goes off to Atco owner Joe Sway and staff along with the Division One crew headed up by Director Lang who didn't give up trying to get this event in -- every racer there this morning was affected in one way or another but these folks just keep trying harder and harder .In addition to everything we got to run the full quarter all day -- every class except Top Dragster which they shortened to the eighth just as a precaution .
Just for the record it did rain this morning around 6am but only for a few minutes with not enough falling to measure .
For myself this weekend has been a real roller coaster ride as I was the guy pissing off the cleanup crew by oiling the track on Friday to going rounds today - as I get older it gets harder to do but believe me its more satisfying than ever .
Congrats to Anthony and Lincoln ............today was no walk in the park -- they earned it ! !
