Jim,
If you do this 'FOR FUN" then why worry about it. If you are not worried about it then why start this post.
If you are worried about it then talk to the tech guys at the next event.

I trid the 2-step on my wagon once and it was activated by the brake light switch under the dash.

Never raced with it though. Either the switch or me was very inconsistent but it never worked.
