Default Re: My evening tonight: "Ramchargers"

It was a good dinner that's for sure. I laughed at the story of the 67 funny car. They could never figure out how much boost they were running. Had a 35lb gauge in the car, but they never got a read on it. They kept putting people in the passenger seat in an attempt to read it while going down the track. They were unsuccessful as everyone was scared out of their mind. They were supposed to be running around 20lbs, the run before they blew the motor, they realized it had the gauge pegged at 35. They made 79 passes before it blew. Running 7.90's at 190+.

I want to know who was willing to sit in the passenger side of a 7 second car in 1967 in an attempt to read a boost gauge. These guys are all super nice and super intelligent. Most of them have forgot more than racers today will ever know. Their memories are rock solid.
