Re: "Live From" the NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals.
For those who are here today it will be a long one as racing starts at 8:15 sharp and a very agressive schedule it is for both Sportsman and Pro's .
Yesterday had its ups and downs for sure - the Stock session was one of the best I've witnessed here at the Grove - watching the "Droozemobile" speed to the #1 spot showed me they are working on these new cars -- as it left the line it looked more and more like a traditional stocker - congrats to the "NewHemi" team --- and the delay - one of the longest while the Sun was shining - they tried hard but it took forever and I'm sure every member of the Safety Safari went to bed tired last evening - but one just has to ask -- what in the world keeps causing the water problems ? We thought they had been fixed but yesterday showed us that's not the case - at least not yet .
As for the fans - up and down for them also - I couldn't believe my eyes yesterday afternoon when after a several hour delay the stands were still packed -but in the end they were treated to spectacular Pro show late last evening . As you'll tell from the photos there were plenty of people here yesterday playing hookey from work .
In case you're interested its still chilly here in Pennsylvania - sounded like my furnace ran most of the night and at this moment its a balmy 52 degrees and climbing as the Sun comes up in half an hour - today will have less humidity and a tick better barometer with the high temp of 72 - sounds like it could be faster today .Low tonight to be 38 with possible frost .
One final thing -- go Phillies ! ! ! ! Didn't see that coming did you ...............
