Cool Re: '62 Impala weight?

The NADA guide was to help shippers and carriers arrive at a point of agreement on what to base shipping charges. The NHRA guide is the only one that counts now. Interesting transitional time in '62. The 283 cars had the iron Powerglide, the 327 came with the aluminum Powerglide, the single vs dual exhaust wouldn't offset much of that. Also, that weight sounds light. Probably for a radio and heater delete manual brake, manual steering car. Interestingly enough, the steel front end wasn't heavy. The hood, fenders, inner fenders and core support was fairly light. Did you ever pick up a stock steel hood for a 63 Nova?? Also, the 409 weighs about 650 pounds, the SBC around 550. I wish you the best with this project. We'll be waiting to see it!!
