Default Re: Front Tire Size

When I put together my LT-1 Firebird....I replaced the front fender liners as the one on the car were all scraped up. It never occured to me why they were all torn up!

I had 26 or 27" front tires and single adjustable front shocks. They were set loose.....and the nose was pretty low

Tom Goldman mentioned to me before I made my first run that the tires would tear up the plastic liners........They did on the very first run and the car was so slow it could barely get out of it's own way! When I got on the brakes the nose dropped and the tires ripped the liners up.......Wasted a lot of time and a few dollars learning that one........

I raised my car a good deal by raisng the spring seats and still had the issue of the nose tripping the beams twice.....

I highly recommend either a double adjustable front shock or a down travel limiter device.....
