One of my most prized trophies is the one I received for winning class at Las Vegas in 2007. And no, it wasn't a single either.

Has there ever been a single for the F/SA or G/SA Wally? It's the only time I've ever won class in the Chevelle.
I usually don't care who I run in class because I know I'm not going to win the trophy anyway, but there were only three of us in G/SA at that race. So I thought if I could get the single first round I could see what the winner runs and decide if I have a chance or not. The other two racers come up to me and ask how we should decide who gets the single. Of course, I ask if we can flip coins for it. They agree and I win the flip.
After seeing what the winner in front of me ran, I decided that I might be able to run with him so I go back to the pits and start putting the Whale on kill. As I'm icing the manifold in the back of the lanes Steve Wann, my final round opponent, comes up to me in disbelief and asks "What are you doing icing it down? You never hop it up for class!" Steve was running his Super Stock car in Super Gas and they ran right before us so I was hoping I might be able to catch him off guard a little.
Anyway, I got him off the line .026 to .033 and outran him 11.636 to 11.650. To be fair to Steve though, he had just recently purchased the car and hadn't yet turned it into the rocket ship that it is today. Also, I think Steve might have taken a little ribbing from his friends for losing to the Great White Whale.
