To over simplify it: Chassis Flex.

When the engine puts applies torque to the chassis it rotates it. The twist is what makes the left front wheel lift more than the other. Solid mounts make the engine & trans. part of the structure of the chassis. If there is flex in that area the weak point is generally the trans. case.

My 2 cars have solid engine mounts and stock rubber trans. mounts.
Poly mount will be more stiff than rubber so if you have little flex your good.
All solid mounts would guess there is not much flex in that area.

Have seen cars with front and mid engine plates both with and without trans. mounts.

It's about engine torque, chassis stiffness and the resulting flex when torque is applied.
