Paul Crowe told me story one time about driving a 55-57 chevy, no crossmember.I can't remember which but anyway he crossed finish line heard bang ,evidently lost driveshaft and broke trans threw all on the ground,he said that was weird feeling for shifter to yanked out of your hand and disappear.
