Tony or Joe, Hello guys . I was just looking over the rules for the BES Pro Comp class and see you now allow Fuel Injection in the class. This is a great move on your part. Would our IHRA Top Stock cars be legal in this class now ? If so would this scenario be correct :

364 ci ls1 with OEM # 241 head casting , sheet metal intake with any internal mods, in a 2001 Firebird = 2800lbs base weight + 16lbs for extra ci =2816 + 9lbs for sheet metal intake = 2825lbs is this correct ?

Thanks
Bo Kenney
No. If I'm not mistaken, the LS1 cylinder head has a 15 degree valve angle so it's 7.8lbs to 360 cubes which would give you 2808 plus 4 lbs for the additional 4 cubes which would yield 2824 + 73 lbs for the sheet metal (.2lbs per cube) = 2897 but we're giving the LSx and Ford Modular engines a 100lb weight break in our heads up classes this year so your final weight would be the flat 2800 lb minimum if you're running a 10.5 tire and a three speed automatic.
