Joe, what compound have you run? In my division, Donnie Hough's car will hook anywhere even in the left lane at Shreveport. I would look at your suspension setup and the compound that you run. I found that the reason that Donnie was hooking and I wasn't was because he runs Hoosiers CO6 compound and I was running CO7's. My car was hooking anywhere except the local track often call Spin City.With a good shock(Sanhuffs if you can afford), Caltracs/CompEng bar, Caltrac springs, loose front end, etc. the radials will hook as good as any bias tire.
