Re: What is your favorite dragstrip?
Bandimere Speedway for three reasons:
1. No other track I've been to has a cool down island that'll cool up to 12 cars at once...just don't drink that water!
2. Stadium seating...it's like being at "Red Rocks" for a concert! They need handrails though!
3. Down hill staging lanes...lower engine temps due to less need for starting your engine to move your vehicle...also no need to push it until you're nearly under the tower!
Note: Although I love the track for those reasons, I don't care for the north 40, and it's isolation from the racing action. However, the pros outweigh the cons.
Honorable mentions:
Thunder Valley Raceway, Marion Sd., since that's the only track I've raced at that I've earned triple digit money at every time, and the shaded pits were cool for camping around too!
Douglas Motor Sports Park, Douglas, Wy. At no other divisional I've ever attended did the towns people come out and offer fresh fruit like they did for the '96 divisional...that was a major attraction for the whole town, and the people there showed us racers/crew how much we were appreciated for attending the event!
Southwestern International Raceway, Tucson, Az. Where else can you enjoy Bacon and eggs, and watch race cars blaze by heading down the quarter-mile?
