We just drilled the companion flange in 2 spots 180 degrees apart .250 diameter by the length of the magnet, epoxied them in place and fabricated a pickup mount out of angle iron that was drilled in 2 places and bolted to a rib on the housing..............

When we did our data logger (10 years ago) we couldn't use the commercially available magnet rings because of the distance between the rear of the companion flange and the face of the seal was too narrow.....

It is out of the way and has worked fine for 10 years.............
