Default Re: trailer and tire recommendation

Thanks for the replies. I was considering 22' but a friend said everyone who got one hated it from the first day. It is hard or impossible to maneuver long trailers at my house, and I "hope" not to have too much "stuff" to take with me.
The 16" option turns out to use 8 lug wheels and 235-80R16 tires. Tire mfg. seem to be the same sorry choices we have in 225-75-15 and while the 16" are rated for more weight, I doubt they are rated for more speed. Here in the west, distances are long and speed limits are 75, so going 65 would take forever to get anywhere. The 16" is spec'ed at 2.5" taller and that might help a little with higher road speeds.

Is 8.5' width legal "everywhere" these days? I appreciate the help, spending 10K these days is traumatic.
