Default Re: Michael Beard stock win @ Martin

The car is Terry Knott's H/CM Dart Sport, same car I drove for him to win the World in 2003. He bought my crate motor in the spring. I'd qualified in Stock for the Moser Shootout, but the Volare's a Super Stock car now, and the Turismo doesn't have Moser axles obviously. Terry was good enough to let me steal his ride yet again (and put me up in the motor home and feed me to boot!)

I think the last time I borrowed it was a national event at MIR when I'd hurt the original motor in the Volare my first year with it. Really needed the money, and it came through for a R/U. We get along pretty well. It was nice to get reacquainted. Definitely a great car. Terry did a lot of work crew chiefing.

LUCKY! I figured I need to take .002 or less to beat Lisa, and that's if I hit the tree. I was convinced she had an unlimited supply of 'teen' packages to pull out any any given time. When I missed the tree, I figured it was over. My jaw dropped when the win light came on! We were both out .006, so the double breakout went to 4 digits.... I was just lucky somebody flipped the 'human' switch on the back of her helmet! She was incredible this weekend.

Thanks to all for the kind words, and great to finally meet y'all, Greg and Andrew! Congrats on your #1 qualifier.
