My neighbour is an insulator and he gave me a roll of asbestos that they use for wrapping high temperature pipes. It is sort of like split loom and I use stainless tyraps to hold it on. It has a coating on it so no fibres come off.
You can lay it right on a header and it is cool on the other side.
