Default Re: 2010 CJ no longer in Stock ?

Cutting to 3 days makes sense, but the bigger issue in my view is the points meets. NHRA is expensive. Track owners don't need NHRA to run a Top Dragster or super class deal. If the DDs think the non performance classes are the answer, I think they are going to be surprised. Most of the track owners are better business people than the VPs at Glendora. They know where to trim the fat. Why would you pay through the nose for NHRA to come in when you could payout more money and charge less then they do for a Division race?

Knowing Charley Bob's penchant to stir the pot, I wouldn't hold too tight to the rumours.

I would think that a smart call would be to offer a GT stock that would allow older cars to use the newer style engines. It would spur sales and marketing opportunities for the aftermarket and the manufacturers. Racers could compete without having to spend 100k on a turnkey car. I would put a fuel injected Small block in my Nova if we coud do it. Tech already knows how to do this. I think the Marketing dept runs NHRA and they appear to be clueless. We need to spell it out for them. They must have been C students at best......

NHRA doesn’t make any money on older cars. They could care less about a 1969 camaro in A/SA that gets killed week in and week out by new cars. It cost more time ,money and employee’s to police these older cars and the cheating that going on with them. The newer cars are way easier to police. NHRA wants SS/STK to be easier to control with less bit^hing. And to taking up less time on the track. STK and SS are just filler for the big show. You guys need to wake up. When NHRA goes to this three day format what do you think they’re going to cut out? Extra cars. They want to see 30-40 New CJ’s,DP and camaro’s because that what people in the auto industry are talking about. The old days are over, some of you just can’t seem to get it through you heads.

Ed NHRA could care less about what you think, you don't pay the bills. The 2500 plus fans that come to each national event and buy beer, food and t-shirts pay 80 plus % of the bills. And when they leave they don't bitc$ about hp or rules or call CA on monday. They just want to know the date for next years event.
