Unlike NHRA, we know the electrons flow from the anode (-) to the Cathode (+). Since we can't teach that pig to sing, we deal with it. To protect the alternator diodes, run the feed right to the battery or the battery side of the cut off switch. For 60 amps and a lead 20' long, 4 gauge will work; crimp and solder the ends for acceptable electrical contact. Run the MSD power right to the battery to protect it. The trigger wire will go through the switched power so that will shut off the engine if NHRA just has to see if the switch shuts the car off.
